The Classic Cask Finish - Round, soft with pleasing notes of vanilla, pear, apple, citrus caramel and honey
The bourbon cask is the most common cask to mature single malt whisky on. With this classic cask that previously stored bourbon, your whisky gets a sweet aroma and a beautiful golden yellow colour. The taste is round and soft with pleasing notes of vanilla, pear, apple, citrus caramel and honey.
The Ex-Bourbon Cask
Elegant Recipe Selection
Elegant: The general character of our elegant distillate is fruity with notes of citrus and pear. Spicy with notes of anise, ginger, cinnamon and cardamom. The elegant recipe is suitable for you who want to let the oak’s inherent aromas take place.
Prestored Elegant: With the prestored recipe, the whisky has already been matured for 4 years in a 200-litre ex-bourbon cask. This means a shorter wait until your whisky is ready, but also the opportunity to be able to combine the character from the 200-litre barrel with your choice of a 30-litre cask.
Smoky Recipe Selection
Smoky: Our malt is infused with a particular Swedish smoky taste by adding juniper twigs on top of the glowing peat bed. Mackmyra’s smoky recipe strives for a balanced smoky taste that still leaves space for the whisky’s fruity tones.
Extra Smoky: Mackmyra’s smoky distillate is also available in an extra smoky version, which is produced with double the amount of smoke malt. With this recipe, your whisky will be heavily smoky with notes tones of peat.
Prestored Smoky: With the prestored recipe, the whisky has already been matured for 4 years in a 200-litre ex-bourbon cask. This means a shorter wait until your whisky is ready, but also the opportunity to be able to combine the character from the 200-litre barrel with your choice of a 30-litre cask.
