A genuine expression of unspoiled nature and mindful craftsmanship
Rotspon Elbe is an elegant amber-colored whisky matured in casks that previously contained Bordeaux wine, for no less than 12 years old.
Rotspon Elbe is named after the region where the river originates, near Hamburg, and creates a unique fruit infusion sourced from the best vineyards in Germany.
In keeping with the Rotspon tradition, this 2019 edition has been finished in the specially handpicked Rotspon barrique barrels from the German winery Heinr. von Have.
Nose: Lovely fruity, berry, and spicy nose, with warm raisins, orange peels, and cloves.
Flavor: Soft fruits with raisins, red grapes, and orange citrus fruits in the mouth, together with fine toasted oak spice with white pepper, ginger, and aniseed.
Aftertaste: Dry with warm, oaky spice and a lovely fruity finish.
The Mackmyra Rotspon Story
The Rotspon series is a tribute to the Hanseatic era, which has been marked by the German-Swedish trading relationship that is still in effect today.
In collaboration with Christoph von Have, the current owner of the von Have winery. We have carefully selected different 225-litre Rotspon barrique casks for each addition.
The series is a true curiosity for whisky connoisseurs and both lovers of rarity and fans of the "Mackmyra style" will be able to taste their very own piece of history.
The Classic Cask Finish - Round, soft with pleasing notes of vanilla, pear, apple, citrus caramel and honey.
